Updated Version: Video Submission Guidelines
I’m always looking for quality new material to post here on ComboVid, so i would appreciate any help in finding new combo/glitch/tutorial videos that deserve additional exposure. Before suggesting a video, please make sure that it meets the following three requirements:
#1: It must be a new combo, glitch, or tutorial video released within the past week. I try to highlight classic combovids as well, but i have enough of those to keep me busy for a year.
#2: It must be an edited video containing multiple clips. It doesn’t have to be fancy; a simple intro and credits will do. I’m just not looking for individual unedited clips.
#3: It must be uploaded to the original author’s channel, or with direct written permission from the author. I’m serious about this. I’m not interested in promoting channels filled with stolen videos, no matter how rare they may be.
If the video satisfies all three basic rules, then simply e-mail me the link and i’ll take a look.
If any of the following information is unlisted and you happen to know it, i would appreciate that as well: author name(s), soundtrack info, release date, transcript link, and download site.
If you’re a combo maker and you’re about to release a new video, i would very much appreciate a simple courtesy e-mail a day or two in advance. It helps a lot in planning the day’s update schedule, which gives me more time to review your video without rushing.
Thanks for reading and thanks for your support! If you have any questions whatsoever, please don’t hesitate to ask them here or by contacting me directly.
Let’s keep this area clear of video submissions. General questions only please!
Do you take suggestions for match videos too, or is it just for combos/glitches and whatnot? I can think of a good match or two though they are not recent.
No matchvid suggestions for now please. There’s just way too much material out there, and there are a lot of shady u2b channels that i wouldn’t feel comfortable supporting.
Plus everyone would just end up sending me videos of themselves or their friends playing online matches and i don’t want to deal with that.
Although one of the things i might do for screenshot caption prizes is let the winner choose a MatchVid of the Day. Maybe i’ll have them send me three choices and i’ll pick one or two from what they suggested.
2 Questions:
– Would combo vids from non-fighters be okay? By non-fighters I mean an arcade game that may be a sidescrolling beat-em-up or something similar. A lot of older games like that still have combos and juggle systems even though it’s not PvP.
– If a vid’s been out for a few months and I wanted to submit it, how would that work?
Thanks in advance!
I’m down for non-fighting games, like God of War 3 or even Streets of Rage 2 even though it doesn’t have a combo counter. Just send me an email with all the details and i’ll check it out.
Generally i don’t post older videos though. Maybe if you release Bayonetta Combos Vol. 4 and you send me links to the previous three, i can include those links as “related projects” or whatever. I doubt that’ll generate much traffic, but it certainly can’t hurt.
