Just Yes. dan jump taunt > t hawk ultra :O
anyways, this was great as usual, the Ibuki vs Gen one was imo just as good, if not better, as the Juri vs Juri one from Zero Damage 1, since the Juri vs Juri one was the the same character.
3:18 = some godliek shet. is Zero Damage 3 coming out around a month from now!? Godly stuff for one month, plus all the testing for the matching taunts must’ve taken hours, and syncing it together? jesus, you’re looking at reaaaaaally long project for one person.
It’s really cool that you two work together on each combovid, because it always makes them have more concepts than I could imagine coming from one person, and it’s definitely a shorter wait.
Even your other vids have so many concepts in them, especially the Combo Lab Akuma video, and even though I don’t know how long it took, I doubt even Maj could come up with all of those on his own.
One question though, how did you guys decide to make a combovid with no damage in it? I don’t see very many people who take something this obscure, like the idea of no damage in a fighting game and really go far with it.
The only other person off the top of my head who has also made combovids of one of the more shadowed parts of fighting games is Genas5, who made the huge pack of combovids for a non-existant game (Ninja Masters), like how, in my opinion, taunts are nearly non-existant in street fighter, as there is no advantage to it.
It’s cool how Maj and you two take things quite obscure and put them in the limelight, like how Maj had one article all about Gen’s Ninja Masters combo, with all of the ones he could find, and you devote a whole month to taunts in SSF4.
TL;DR you guys are awesome at what you do.
First :D
Thanks for the kudos Shaxan, and sorry for my poor english…
About your question:
Well, Krusan and me love to make CMV, because videogames are our favourite hobby. If we discover or simply think that something is remarkable, we start to work to make a vid (without too much regard to whether a video will be very, or not)
I normally used the number 5 taunt of Fei Long to evade FB when I was playing VS online, and our curiosity led us to seek more “evade taunts”… And we discovered that a lot of taunts had evade properties. So the next step was start to work to make a CMV.
But a vid showing only taunts avoinding hits seemed very boring, so I decided to put “something” more… And finally the idea came to my head “why not an entirely vid in which the characters again and again to dodge all attacks?” could be fun, and something different.
Here was where Krusan used his compulsive search skills to find a lot of avoiding moves (I think make a good team, I usually take care of the creative and editing, and Krusan of hard work, how to make an intensive search of new moves, or run the most difficult combos, because it has a little more skill with the stick than me).
Well, Krusan has great ideas too, and I am not totally negated with one stick! hehehehe…
The reason that in a month we could get another volume is due to the holidays. More time to see us, more time to work on the video. I think that the next chapter will take us more longer.
Yeah, its great to work with another person together. We have make some videos alone ( For example I worked on Combo Labs, and Krusan in all KOF vids) but when work together, the vids have more quality, and are more fun to record!
I only say one thing about Maj… He has the Golden Stick!!! Nothing more to say, hahahaha…
No doubt, there are a lot of nice touches in this video. For instance Makoto’s EX command grab used to absorb Ryu’s fireball at 0:27. I mean, they could’ve done that with any grappler, but it looks especially cool with her.
Then you’ve got Bison and Akuma respecting each other’s space at 1:00. And backwards Chun Li’s puffball ultra nullifying Ryu’s super FB and ultra FB.
And of course the Taunt selection! All that stuff at the end is awesome and then you’ve got Zangief shaking his head at El Fuerte at 1:39.
It all works so well! Even setting aside the technical aspects, i just like how much personality there is in this video.
Of course, everything you said is true, but in my opinion, the first one had a much better soundtrack. I animate stick figures with flash, and whenever I need music, I always look for upbeat, but not loud or sorta like this song called Getaway by Earth, Wind & Fire.
The titles were actually beautifully synced, and the only thing I didn’t like about this was the music choice.
I would have to agree on the music choice. Daft Punk is pretty cool, but it could’ve used a more quirky song. How about something like ‘Focus’ by Hocus Pocus? I think that would tie together as a ‘weird’ song to fit Da Da Da.
“i just like how much personality there is in this video”
Wow Maj, this is the nicest thing ever said to us, thanks man!
Will you marry me?! hehehehe
As I mentioned in a prior posting, this video is something that my friends not into fighting games really enjoy, this one included. One of my friends that I showed this to liked in particular the two Guys near the end.
My favorite here was at the beginning with Dan’s taunt stuffing all sorts of crazy stuff!
