MatchVid of the Day: Mizoteru vs Ojisan Boy (SF4)

It’s not too often that we get to see quality Blanka play in Street Fighter IV, especially aggressive-oriented gameplay from a character that tends to turtle more often than not.

players: Mizoteru (Blanka) vs Ojisan Boy (Sagat)

observations:
The entertaining thing about Mizoteru is that he’s not afraid to take damage as long as he comes out ahead. He’ll just barge in there and brawl all-out, as long as it makes his opponent uncomfortable. It doesn’t always work out in his favor, but that ghetto crossup ultra mixup (2:07) often works as an equalizer even when he’s losing. By the way, Sagat happens to do some crazy backwards uppercut combo at 4:47 that looks pretty cool. He probably could’ve gotten more out of that setup though.

4:47 would have made me lose myself in concentration if I was Ojisan Boy. And that was indeed a very patient Blanka.

i remember watching this live.. i was so excited with mizoteru’s performance
he played really really entertaining and smart with Blanka and he eliminated a Sagat player which felt so rewarding at the time :)
