This has to be one of the strangest and coolest tournament teasers i’ve ever seen. It’s a Holland-themed remake of the Super Street Fighter II Turbo intro, serving as an announcement for the very first Red Fight District tournament to be held on October 22nd and 23rd, 2011.
If you happen to live anywhere near the Netherlands, mark this event on your October calendar. You can find detailed info at the Red Fight District website as well as the Drakenslag forums.

Awwwwww, I thought you were gonna break the vid down to point out highlights and stuff, like usual. I was curious about what you were gonna write.
Thanks for posting this man, I’m honoured to be featured on Combovid.com
Hahaha highlights were obviously “Holland!” at 0:22 and “Get Hype” at 0:23. And the cow. And especially the CvS2 music.
What’s the black and white thing at 0:41? Looks like a boxer’s robe or something.
It’s the shape of the Netherlands…took me a while hahaha…I also can’t help but feel like that’s some old angry Frisian farmer protecting his prized brown cow…damn i want to visit my dutch cousins (real ones, not just the other fighting game fans!)
You are correct onreload, it’s Holland.
This character was actually born several years ago, his name is Klaas.

I hope this won’t be the last you see of him. :)
“Holland” was created by combining gee, let me think. I used either “Honda”, or “Hawk” and then added the “Land” part of “Thailand”. At first I wanted to use the “Land” part of “England”, because you usually don’t put quite that much emphasis on that part when pronouncing Holland, but it sounded weird.
No way i would’ve guessed that was a map. The shading makes it look like a 3D object!
I love how Bob Sagat managed to make the shape of the Netherlands look a little bit like Akuma’s face from the ST trailer.
It’s just too bad the joke is kind of lost on anyone who has no clue what the shape of the Netherlands is. haha.
Well I’ve told Bob Sagat alreayd, and I’ll tell him again, this is freaking awesome. And I hope RFD becomes a great event, which obviously it will be because I’ll be attending!
Lol, I hope I’ll be in Holland then.
“klaas” eh? i like that name, i used it as an alternate first name on a few occasions; is it a really stereotypical name or something?
Exactly. Don’t get much more Dutch than that. ;)
