Had enough CvS2 silliness? Didn’t think so. These are the last two matches out of twenty between SAW and Desora for for the Capcom vs SNK 2 EX-Groove World Title (or something).
players: Desora (EX-Iori/Raideso/Singo-2) vs SAW (EX-Sinsen93/Singo/MidoLi-2 and Yun)
observations:
At 1:47, strange as it sounds I’m positive Desora did this on purpose. What’s amazing is how little this seems to effect them, as they both manage to preform anti-airs and juggles without any problem. 2:23 holy crap look at the guard damage; wait so R1 Raiden does crap loads of damage too. Some very nice ambiguous cross-ups and constant pressure finishes it off. 3:35, 40% hp is a fair trade off a low short for no meter right? 4:06, of course Raiden manages 70% off a crossup for 1 meter. 5:08, wow Yun couldn’t do that in 3S. 5:30 clever counter setup and Yun’s life bar disappears. 6:04 not sure why Desora decides to do a Singo kick, but SAW punishment is clearly excessive. Desora is way too pro to give up and almost wins with his reliable super setup, but SAW learns his lesson from the first two times.

Believe it or not, that Raiden glitch setup at 1:49 is standard. Raiden is one of the only CvS2 characters who can initiate tech throw glitch effects on his own. Almost everyone else requires a simultaneous reversal from both characters.
That’s why he keeps using normal F+HP throw instead of command grab. Also because that particular throw has insane range – the most in the game by far.
And if it works, they get flipped under the screen or something and can’t see a damn thing. It’s pretty hard to play footsies when you’re forced to judge your position by your shadow. Then Raiden just belly splashes fools and they die.
So yeah, legitimate tactic all around. CvS2, ladies and gentlemen!
Just curious, do you know what Raideso needs to reversal with to trigger it?
Awesome glitch btw.
I can’t remember for sure right now, but i’m fairly certain it was Jumping Lariat Drop (DP+P). It’s a pretty terrible move otherwise. He tries it against Kyo at 1:50 but of course it misses.
It took me until the back to back parry into just defend to realize they were playing EX groove.
Man, Yun suddenly looked like he belonged in Darkstalkers, he even does Darkness Illusion! The Chun Li combos were fun to watch too.
For the record, there is no such thing as too much CvS2 silliness.
