For his second tool-assisted choreographed 3rd Strike match, DevilAzite chose Ken and Dudley as his puppets. This one’s more dynamic than the first, with more parries and faster action.
highlights:
SF3:3S Dudley post-KO Corkscrew Blow at 1:35, Ken backward j.HK to punish parried EX Jet Upper at 1:45, and Ken doing 90% damage with two practical combos in the last round

What I also love about these TAS matches is the character that you see in them. Observe at 1:23 when Ken does a taunt and basically gets punished big time with Dudley doing a KO combo. Watch again at 1:51 when Ken taunts but this time he parries an entire EX Machine Gun Blow and then performs an 11 hit Super Art combo. Pretty good payback, eh?
For me the cool thing is watching them get better as DevilAzite learns from each attempt. This match is better than the first one, and each round is usually a little better than the previous one.
There are a couple of things that could still be improved though. For example at 0:16, Ken lands an anti-air LP Shoryuken which hits high. I’m almost certain he could’ve juggled something after that setup.
It’s a little annoying to see missed opportunities like that, because the whole point of tool-assistance is optimizing everything. If he’s sacrificing damage then it should lead to a nasty mixup. But basically Ken just lets Dudley off the hook, then completely screws up a crossup.
I know it’s supposed to feel like a “real match” and people make mistakes in real matches, but that’s a little too sloppy. In a tool-assisted exhibition, i want the characters to look absolutely lethal any time they land a hit.
Like i said though, the best part is watching these get better. I immediately posted the first one he released, and i’m totally down to go along for the ride.
Woa hey Maj, isn’t Ryu’s Denjin Hadouken gonna blow up right in his face now that that Aegis is right in front of him?
You mean in the header image? Maybe. Or maybe Ryu’s hands will go through, he’ll release the fireball, then get interrupted – like here.
A while back I saw a Japanese tool assisted 3S match with Akuma and… someone else. Spent a while trying to find the link, does anyone know where it is? It was pretty awesome.
I believe you mean this one, Akuma vs Chun:
