KCA Project ROCK Part 1 | Part 2
Ladies and Gentleman, full Korean KOF power at its most flamboyant best!
Combos:
The level of creativity shown in this video it’s quite formidable, paired up with the latest engine researches in both classic and new KOF’s. K’rows certainly took the video away by presenting some of the most creative set ups displayed to date in some new games like 2002UM and XI. The rest of the crew of KCA delivered real astonishing material, special mention to 2001 guru ALEXS, Elixir, Q-zero and AkaiVE (which I never had the chance to see his works, quite impressive stuff). I do still have my gripes with some boring and repetitive shit like those awful Vanessa vs Chris combos in 2002 and other stuff that was mostly put as filler. But I must admit that from all the stuff displayed in there, at least 80% it’s high quality material.
XI and 2002UM it’s so far the best thing I’ve seen in both games. I always wanted someone who could go this deep in these games and exploit tons of stuff the game can deliver and for me this could be as inspirational material for combo makers who would like to research these games more in-deep.
Music:
The music selection for this huge compilation (I take this whole work as a compound of 4 CMV’s in one was quite adecuate for the themes displayed, and the best is that it covered a big array of styles to please different ears. From high-end rocktronica, techno, pop (lol BOA) and even some metal from the hand of Nightwish, sure it filled the video with hype and style. It kept the video lively and intense. I highly rate the music selection on it.
Edition:
This might be the first time I see a collective collaboration of different video editors in a compound video. This was mostly (as mentioned above) like for CMV’s in one. While some of the visual resources are flashy and quite awesome, I must admit the intros (main intro and K part especially) where so far way too long. Some transitions in between combos were fantastic (K section edited by K’rows) with sprites passing by as a combo goes into another and other parts looked clean and stylish. Perhaps for some tastes would find the edition a bit… ummm… “flamboyant”, but certainly it’s a high quality flamboyancy in my eyes.
Perhaps if only the intros would have remained shorter and keep certain spaces a bit cleaner, the combined edition efforts would have gone into a complete sense of perfection. But certainly this is nitpicking.
To close this review, this pack of multiple mini-CMV’s in one it’s a real entertaining material that shows the best stuff done so far by the KCA. Their talent will not go unnoticed by the community, either from their creative combos, bugs and situational set-ups and/or from the high-end flamboyancy shown in the edition of these works.
CMV’s of the year, someone dared to say? Who knows, but certainly this would be a strong candidate if so.
Nice review sir. I don’t know about CMV of the year, but with all that said, i guess i have no choice but to make this the Vid of Week for 10.18.2010!
kof98-2000 were all classics. Its too bad when snk went bankrupt after 2000 that kof started to suck balls. but its not their fault. =/
Combos: h’m, some kof2002 combos are only simple variations and don’t have anything impressive, and one combo of Redeyes9 in kof97 is veeery old, but about all the other combos: FUCKING AWESOME!
In this CMV Q. Zero upgraded to Q. One and Elixir upgraded to Red Bull, There are lots of new combos, it is very hard, because it is hard find new things in oldshool games, and a few number of makers made a lot of things.
We only see a big CMV with all good stuff when it is a cooperation CMV, like Planet Collision, New Blood, etc, but only one team made all the work with a impressive level.
Edition: I loved all transitions, creative a lot, the BGM are fantastic, there are my type of sounds. And the S.E.A. part was very hard and intelligente, his part was the best!
This CMV is recommended to people who have 18 years or more, because there are explicit material FUCKING the SNK finding lots of bugs and incredible combos.
