What do you think? It’s a little bare and a little rough around the edges at the moment, but that’ll change in no time. I have a lot of ideas for this place, so it’s only a matter of implementing them – however long that takes.
What can you expect from ComboVid? Well, i want this to be the first place you think of when you feel like watching a combo video. That’s my main goal and i’ll work hard to achieve it.
Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of great websites out there like SRK, CX, and TZ which provide excellent discussion grounds for fighting game players. But i don’t think anyone does a particularly great job of covering combo video releases in a way that’s accessible, informative, and well-organized. ComboVid will fill that void.
On an average day, you can expect to hear about any new combo videos released that day. I’ll also choose one classic combo video to spotlight. There are a lot of great vids that deserve a second viewing, and this process will build ComboVid’s archives. Ultimately i want people to come here to search for combovids instead of going to youtube, mostly because u2b is a huge disorganized mess and there has to be a better way.
Apart from combo videos, i’ll be keeping an eye on the whole community and i’ll spotlight any outstanding strategy or technical articles that come to my attention. If you happen to find some crazy unblockable technique in MvC3 and you decide to write a blog post about it, go ahead and e-mail me the link. I’m always down to take a look.
Once in a while, you may also see major industry news posted here. I’m not particularly interested in overanalyzing character select silhouettes, but sometimes actual important news is worth discussing – probably once or twice a week at most, to avoid unnecessary clutter.
I do have a few extra surprises in mind, but i’m not quite ready to spoil those yet. So take a look around, jump right in, and let me know what you think. Welcome to ComboVid!
